Restorative Yoga is another beautiful practice which is all about relaxing & promoting our “relaxation response.” It should not be confused with Yin Yoga.
In Restorative Yoga we are not aiming to stretch or “stress”, it’s quite the opposite. A session will involve a series of postures and the use of as many props as the student needs to support the body so that no tension is felt. It really is taking the time to set yourself up with your bolsters, cushions, pillows, whatever you have at hand.
You know you are in the right set up when you feel a sense of floating. Then once you are in the posture all you need to do is relax and let go. The perfect antidote for a stressful life!
