My next Yoga & Menopause Workshop will be focusing on that time in our lives termed “post-Menopause.” This time may manifest in feelings of loss, grief & lack of purpose/direction. Along with this may be issues such as weight gain & loss of strength which can lead to lack of confidence.
Post Menopause however can be an exciting time but unfortunately our culture does not tend to celebrate or acknowledge the tremendous benefits that come with this stage of a women’s life such as wisdom & empowerment. In Traditional Chinese Medicine this stage is referred to as “Second Spring”, a really exciting & powerful time.
Menopause Yoga ® is a system of yoga designed to help women navigate through the menopausal years by including asanas (postures), pranayama (breathing practices) meditations/visualisations specifically designed to enable you to deal with each stage more smoothly.
During this session the asanas will be quite dynamic to enable us to focus on strength but also movement as we can tend to get a little lethargic during this time. We will also spend time exploring how to get back that passion for life that may have been lost a little.
The morning will also incorporate a women’s circle which will be a safe space to talk & share with other women who are going through similar issues. Just knowing you are not alone can be so helpful. The session will also include journal writing & reflection over a cup of tea at the close.
I will be keeping the numbers small so that you all have the opportunity to use your voice, something that can also be difficult at this time, feelings of not being “heard” or feeling invisible can be prominent.
The morning will be suitable for all women at any stage of the menopause but especially if you are struggling to move forward into your next stage of life.
